A Sense of Purpose

Having a sense of purpose creates drive and initiative. It also means that you know what you are supposed to do. Purpose is defined as the reason for which something is done or created or for which something exists. It’s why you do what you do. It is the end to which someone is born; the reason for the origin of a person or a thing.

For example: "The purpose of salvation is to inherit eternal life.”  “Jesus came that He might destroy the works of darkness, and restore man back to the Father.” Etc.

You must identify your purpose and move in that direction with a plan.  When you do, that becomes your (synonyms) motive, motivation, grounds, cause, occasion, reason, point, basis, and justification.

When you know your purpose it creates recognizable boundaries and boarders for your life which eliminates certain things and opens the door to receive certain things. Everything about your life centers around the purpose for which you were born, including relationships, places and things. That’s why the most important thing you can do is go to God and ask Him what He has planned for you to do, and do it.

Jeremiah 29:11, For I know the thoughts (the imaginations, thoughts, plans, purpose) that I think toward you, saith the Lord, thoughts of peace (shalom, Heb., completeness, soundness, welfare, safety, health, prosperity, tranquility), and not of evil (ra’, Heb., wickedness, adversity, hurt, harm, unhappy, displeasing, unkind thoughts, but) to give you an expected end (tiqvah, Heb., thing or outcome longed for). (KJV)

Jeremiah 29:11, "For I know the plans I have for you, says the Lord. They are plans for good and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope." (TLB)

God has an original plan for your life, and you have to ask Him, seek and knock in order to acquire it.  Matt. 7:7, says, “Ask, and you will be given what you ask for. Seek, and you will find. Knock, and the door will be opened.” (TLB)

Matt. 7:7-11 (Message Bible) “Don’t bargain with God. Be direct. Ask for what you need. This isn’t a cat-and-mouse, hide-and-seek game we’re in. If your child asks for bread, do you trick him with sawdust? If he asks for fish, do you scare him with a live snake on his plate? As bad as you are, you wouldn’t think of such a thing. You’re at least decent to your own children. So don’t you think the God who conceived you in love will be even better?”

James 1:5, says, “If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all men liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him.” (KJV)

Go to God for the answers, and you will receive what you ask for. That is a promise!
Proverbs 29:18, says, “Where there is no vision, the people perish: but he that keepeth the law, happy is he.” (KJV)

(AMP) Proverbs 29:18, “Where there is no vision [no revelation of God and His word], the people are unrestrained; But happy and blessed is he who keeps the law [of God]."
You must go to God and get a revelation of your purpose, your designated point of interest, His plans and intentions for your life so that you regain a sense of destiny and know where you are going.

When people lack the mind and wisdom of God they wonder, are aimless, hopeless and try to live off of the purposes, energy, existence and lives of others which is a great mistake, because God isn’t so foolish as to create you in His own image and likeness to be at the mercy of others like that. Rather, He created you to walk in dominion power and authority as His ambassador in this world according to Genesis 1:28. The key is to pray and ask God to show you what He desires of you in accordance with Habakkuk 2:1-2.

Habakkuk 2:1-2, says, "I will stand at my guard post and station myself on the tower; and I will keep watch to see what He will say to me, and what answer I will give [as His spokesman] when I am reproved. 2, Then the Lord answered me and said, “Write the vision and engrave it plainly on [clay] tablets so that the one who reads it will run." (AMP)

Your vision comes from God! Your direction comes from God! Your purpose in life comes from God, and you can’t afford to wait for somebody else to hand you a purpose and a vision. You are mandated to go to the Creator and ask Him for it. I’m glad that I can go to God for what I need, and I’m so glad that I don’t have to wait on somebody else to do it for me, because I can easily end up disappointed. But, when you ask God He promises to answer and give you the very best. He’ll give you a future and a hope!

God I thank you for being the answer to my need, and I thank you that I can come boldly unto the Throne of grace that I might find mercy and find grace to help me in the time of need. Not only that, but God said that He would give you another Comforter, the Holy Spirit, to lead and guide you into all Truth!  He will be in you guiding you by His Spirit. Then He’ll give you Power, Strength and Grace to do what He ordained for you to accomplish.

You’ve got to believe it, Stand on the Word of God, Decree and Declare it, Bind the Enemy, Shake Off Disillusionment and tell the devil to BACK OFF IN JESUS NAME!!! I’M MOVING FORWARD & I’M GOING TO DO WHAT GOD SAID FOR MY LIFE!!!  GLORY TO GOD!!!

Praise God for this encouraging and revelatory message! It is so wonderful to know that God has a plan and purpose for each and everyone of our lives and that He is not a respecter of persons. God will use whatever we are willing to give Him. This means that you don't have to concern yourself with what you don't have or how you don't measure up to the person next to you. God placed in you exactly what He desires to extract out of you for His glory. I always marvel at the awesomeness of our God. He didn't just give us salvation and then say,"Now go and figure the rest out." But instead He says,"Come and discover the great plans that I have for you." God bless you Apostle Beth for allowing God to use you in such an extrodinary way!
