Stand: Is There Not A Cause!!

Ephesians 6:10-14, "Finally, be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power. 11 Put on the full armor of God, so that you can take your stand against the devil’s schemes. 12 For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms. 13 Therefore put on the full armor of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground, and after you have done everything, to stand. 14 Stand firm then..." (NIV)

To Stand means to endure, to take one's stand, have a standing attitude, to rise up or against.

I want to ask you a question, "Is there not a cause?"  David asked this same question when he saw the Philistine giant name Goliath railing against the armies of Israel in 1 Samuel chapter 17.  My question to you is this, is there not a cause to stand in prayer and intercession for your family, community, church, and country? Is there not a cause to stand upon the word of God and declare it over your family, community, church and nation?  Is there not a cause to embrace a greater level of faithfulness to God than you've ever been before?  When you see the family under attack, great economic and financial uncertainty, violence across the nation and the world, governmental/political instability nationally and globally, as well as a profane spirit that mocks everything that the word of God embodies and stands for, it's high time to awake out of sleep and apathy, and serve God wholeheartedly.  IT'S TIME TO TAKE A STAND!!!

Just as Goliath defied and railed against the armies of Israel until David stood courageously and defeated him as depicted in 1 Samuel chapter 17, there are demonic forces that are attempting to defy the body of Christ, and that are poised to destroy our nation as well. But we must take our stand and "be strong in the Lord, and in the power of His might, and put on the whole armour of God." (Ephesians 6:10-11)  God has given unto us weapons of warfare that are spiritual in nature, which surpass and supersede all of the weaponry of the wicked one.  If we utilize our God given weapons effectively we can defeat our adversary, the devil.

2 Corinthians 10:3-5, For though we walk in the flesh, we do not war after the flesh:
4 (For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strong holds;) 5 Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ.  (Refer to Luke 10:19)

I want to describe some of these spiritual weapons that have been provided for the believers.
1)  Praise is a weapon
2)  Prayer is a weapon
3)  Unity in the body of Christ is a weapon
4)  The blood of Jesus is a weapon
5)  The Word of God is a weapon
6)  Faith is a weapon
7)  Giving & Wealth are weapons

*Praise - Psalms 8:2 Out of the mouth of babes and sucklings hast thou ordained strength because of thine enemies, that thou mightest still the enemy and the avenger.

*Prayer - James 5:16b The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much.  (Refer to Ezekiel 22:30; Isaiah 59:16)

2 Chronicles 7:14 If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land. 15 Now mine eyes shall be open, and mine ears attent unto the prayer that is made in this place. 16 For now have I chosen and sanctified this house, that my name may be there for ever: and mine eyes and mine heart shall be there perpetually.

*Unity - Matthew 18:19 Again I say unto you, That if two of you shall agree on earth as touching any thing that they shall ask, it shall be done for them of my Father which is in heaven.  (Refer to Psalm 133:1-3; Deuteronomy 32:30; Joshua 23:10; Hebrews 10:25)

*The Blood of Jesus - Revelation 12:11 And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb, and by the word of their testimony; and they loved not their lives unto the death.

*God's Word - Matthew 4:4 But he answered and said, It is written, Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God.
Isaiah 55:11 So shall my word be that goeth forth out of my mouth: it shall not return unto me void, but it shall accomplish that which I please, and it shall prosper in the thing whereto I sent it.  (Refer to 2 Peter 5:14-15; John 15:7; Job 22:28; Romans 4:17)

*Faith - Romans 1:17 For therein is the righteousness of God revealed from faith to faith: as it is written, The just shall live by faith.
Hebrews 11:1-3 Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen. 2 For by it the elders obtained a good report. 3 Through faith we understand that the worlds were framed by the word of God, so that things which are seen were not made of things which do appear.

*Giving & Wealth - Malachi 3:10 Bring ye all the tithes into the storehouse, that there may be meat in mine house, and prove me now herewith, saith the Lord of hosts, if I will not open you the windows of heaven, and pour you out a blessing, that there shall not be room enough to receive it. 11 And I will rebuke the devourer for your sakes, and he shall not destroy the fruits of your ground; neither shall your vine cast her fruit before the time in the field, saith the Lord of hosts.  (Refer to 2 Corinthians 9:7-13)
Ecclesiastes 7:12 For wisdom is a defense, and money is a defense: but the excellency of knowledge is, that wisdom giveth life to them that have it.
Proverbs 10:15 The rich man's wealth is his strong city: the destruction of the poor is their poverty.  (Refer to Deuteronomy 8:18)

As Christians, we need to utilize and employ everything that God has given us to fight the enemy in our praise, prayer, unity, the blood of Jesus, God's word, faith, and giving and wealth.  It is essential to make it all serve the purpose of advancing the cause of Christ and establishing the purposes of God's kingdom in the earth realm.  When we take a stand utilizing and comprehending the purpose of everything He has put at our disposal, then nothing shall be impossible for us, and many multitudes of souls will be saved, delivered and restored unto God.  Let us endeavor to aim towards to mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus, and serve Him with every facet of spiritual machinery to destroy the works of darkness and pray, "Thy Kingdom come, Thy will be done" (Matthew 6:11), until "the kingdoms of this world are become the kingdoms of our Lord and His Christ" (Revelation 11:15) in Jesus mighty name.  There is a cause to stand!!

Thank you Apostle Bethtina, that was an awesome blog. You are absolutely correct. There is a cause. God has given us all the tools and weapons necessary to be an effective witness to others and to stand in prayer for our families. We need to face our challenges with the full armor of God, stand on his word and declare victory by the blood of Jesus.

Wow, that was powerful and so very true, there is truly a cause! When I began to look out and see where we are as a nation and hear about things that have taken place in the family, and hearing about young people that I knew personally being killed by a hit and run driver, and hearing about a kid who was only 17 who was shot and killed by another kid who was 17, it is truly time to pray and intercede on the behalf of others. I believe that in this hour God is putting a fresh anointing on his people to pray and intervene on the behalf of others. Yes the devil may be launching attack, but God has not left use powerless. He has given us tools, he has given us weapons, but most of all he has given us the Holy Ghost, and with him we can't lose. He said the Kingdom suffereth violence and the violent take it by force. Its time to rage war in the heavenlies and put the devil to flight. Greater is he that is in us than he that is in the world. Love you Apostle, God Bless!

Nikki, thank you for sharing your comments on our community blog. Your feedback is greatly appreciated, and you're absolutely right about what is happening with lives being taken. We are in a battle against evil and the wicked one is out to kill, steal and destroy according to John 10:10. Therefore, we must take the call to prayer seriously, and use the spiritual weaponry that God has given unto us to defeat the adversary at all points. God bless you!

There certainly is a cause and it is time to take a stand!! Every night before I lay my daughter down to sleep, we pray the Lord’s Prayer. “Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be Your name. Your KINGDOM come. Your will be done in earth as it is in heaven…”- Matthew 6:9-13 I endeavored to capitalize the word “Kingdom” to make mention of this word. You see, Kingdom represents a way of doing things. In this prayer we are literally asking God for His way of doing things to come here on earth. We know from scripture that Satan did the opposite, through his pride he attempted to be above God and fell out of favor with God, and got kicked out. He is known as the deceiver that leads humanity astray. His role now is seducing humanity into the ways of sin or “his way of doing things”, as the prince of the power of the air. The weapons you have described here in this blog are very important for each believer to utilize. The Book of Revelation describes how Satan will be cast out of Heaven, down to the earth, having "great anger" and waging war against "those who obey God's commandments and hold to the testimony of Jesus. The result of Christian that does not fight with the full armor of God is rapid spread of the enemy’s way of doing things, ultimately to steal, kill, and destroy. We find this to be true simply by turning on the news. We want to draw souls to the Kingdom of God advancing the cause of Christ. If we live in the Spirit, let us also walk in the Spirit because we have the victory.

Travis, your remarks reflect a clear understanding of the practicality and importance of prayer to impact change around us. When we pray things happen for the better, souls are saved, and lives are restored. When Christians fail to pray our adversary, the devil, wreaks havoc everywhere possible. We have been given the advantage, greater power and authority through the word of God. When we use it, the Kingdom of heaven is increased in the earth realm, and God is exalted in the lives of men. Thank you for contributing and God bless you.

After reading this empowering blog, I began to reflect on the alarming current events that have taken place and those that may take place. In this age, it is extremely noticeable who is and who is not using the spiritual weapons mentioned above. People young and old are being faced with obstacles. These obstacles are so broad in character that it requires us to be connected to the all knowing God. Now more than ever, I personally feel the need to tackle every obstacle with full force and action. Whether the challenges are considered to be tiny or gigantic, it’s imperative that we take action with full force. I’ve realized the tiny obstacles just as the gigantic obstacles are preparing us for what’s occurring and they are preparing us for what’s to come. We’re gaining strength. About a week ago, I heard a man of God covering the topic of faith and he stated something so accurate. He stated “Your faith isn’t worth 15 cents without a trial”. I laughed at first because he said it with attitude, but you could recognize he was speaking with experience. It’s through the trials that all of the spiritual weapons are being tested. For example, it’s through the trials and challenges that faith is tested. Case and point: David had faith to kill the lion and the bear. After he killed the lion and the bear he knew even more that since he killed the lion and the bear he could unquestionably kill the giant, Goliath. Amongst other spiritual weapons, his faith was present and operating. The power of God is so powerful that if you just have a little of something it goes a long way. Imagine if we step into all of the spiritual weapons. As believers of the true and living God, it’s time for us to recognize it is a REQUIREMENT for us to have an understanding and the experience in utilizing the mentioned spiritual weapons in order to overcome the enemy. When an individual is attending school, there are some classes that are labeled as ELECTIVES and there are some classes that are labeled as REQUIREMENTS or CORE classes. In order for us to overcome and help others overcome the various types of challenges we must utilize these spiritual weapons. If we simply pick and choose when and if we want to use our spiritual weapons, we will be tossed around spiritually, physically, mentally, psychologically, educationally, financially, economically, professionally, etc. I’m so glad to know God is the same yesterday, today, and forevermore. We have confidence in knowing who He is and we have confidence in knowing who He is through us. Thank you Apostle Williams for all you do in delivering such powerful messages to the people.

Candice, your contribution to our community blog is amazing and insightful. You've share so many things from a unique perspective that adds to, broadens and is a benefit to us on this particular blog topic. I especially like what you said about “Your faith isn't worth 15 cents without a trial”, and "It’s through the trials that all of the spiritual weapons are being tested. For example, it’s through the trials and challenges that faith is tested. Case and point: David had faith to kill the lion and the bear. After he killed the lion and the bear he knew even more that since he killed the lion and the bear he could unquestionably kill the giant, Goliath." These statements are quite true, because they bear witness to the Scriptures. You're also right in that we can't pick and choose to use the spiritual weaponry as though it's an "Elective" in school, because it's not. The whole armor of God is essential and at the "Core" of our ability to win every battle and ultimately the war against the enemy of our faith, which is the devil. God bless you Candice, and thank you for your tremendous contribution.

We as believers in God have been called to be "more than conquerors" and " victorious" (Romans 8:37 and I Corinthian 15:57) but; we must first recognize that there are many spiritual giants in existence whose mission is to destroy the word and will of God for our lives. The defeat of the children of God only occurs when the two W's aren't put into place, "The will of God." and "The weapons of God." Simply put, it is God's will for us to put the weapons that He has given us,to work. We are at war and God has well equipped us for battle. Now is the time to fight the good fight of faith! There is a cause. Thank you Apostle Williams for yet another empowering blog. God bless you.

Toiya, you comments are intriguing and insightful. I was particularly blessed by your statement regarding the two W's being "The will of God," and "The weapons of God." If we obey the word of God and utilize the weapons of our warfare that He has provided for us, we become an unbeatable foe to the devil. Praise God for your contribution to us on the blog. God bless you!!

There most certainly is a cause to stand against the enemy and his efforts to steal , kill , and destroy God's people and the plans of God for the kingdom of God. As you stated the only way we can stand against the enemy in any area is by putting on the whole armor of God and by equipping ourselves with the weapons you have mentioned in the blog. We must know the purpose of each of those weapons and how they can be used effectively to destroy every demonic force of the enemy. It is clear that we are living in the last days and we are the final runners, so as christians it is our duty to take a stand against anything that comes against the Kingdom of our God. Anything that is not in the plan of God's will for our lives, our children's lives, our ministry, our nation must be bought down using the mighty arsenal given to us by God. Praise, Prayer, faith, unity, the blood of Jesus, the word and giving our all tools that Christians can use as we take our stand against anything against the will of God on earth.

Praise God Min. Tracie, thank you so much for sharing your comments regarding our community blog this month. I'm always glad to see and know that the blog is a blessing and adds to the perspective of others. It is true, "The weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but they are mighty through God to the pulling down of strongholds." (2 Cor. 10:4) God bless you!

Dr. Stanley D. Williams on Monday, September 09, 2013 12:28 PM
As I read the blog and even some of the comments of others I cannot but observe the current affairs of the world and the need for strong spiritual believers. The situations that America is currently facing are not only numerous but all serious. This is a time prayer which can counter the tremendous spiritual warfare the enemy is waging against our great nation. We must also remember that this warfare cannot be countered with carnal weapons, the only weapons strong enough to counter this warfare are spiritual weapons as the word states: "The weapons of our warfare are not carnal but mighty through God to the pulling down of strongholds". This is a time for war in the spirit and yes there is a cause, A nations future is at stake and every believer had better be aware of it. When the nation of Israel was at stake God raised up a champion in David, now it is our turn to stand up and be prepared to release the stone that will eliminate the adversaries of our nation through warfare prayer and unity. All prayer warriors stand up it is time to fight the good fight of faith.

Praise God Apostle Stanley, thank you so much for sharing your perspective and thoughts on our community blog this month. There is a gap in the hedge according to Ezekiel 22:30, which can only be filled by God's intercessors who are equipped and empowered by His word to destroy the works of darkness in the spirit real, which is the causal realm. As God's end-time prayer warriors and intercessors move forward in strategic effective prayers it will impact and affect this world in a powerful way. I agree with you that we must take a stand for righteous and enforce the precepts of God's word over and against all the works the darkness. God bless you and thank you once again for your contribution.
