Christmas is a Time of Celebration!

To everything there is a season, and a time to every purpose under heaven.  Ecclesiastes 3:1 KJV

Christmas is the greatest time of celebration all over the world. While other holidays are recognized in a single day, Christmas is celebrated for a whole month. At Christmas time people begin to do many special things like sending out greetings cards, decorating their homes, buying gifts, attending Christmas parties, singing Christmas carols, attending church services, and traveling to see their families and loved ones.  When you really think about it, it's amazing that the birth of a little baby who was born in a manager over two thousand years ago continues to cause the greatest stir around the entire world - throughout various countries and cultures of people. Did you know that every time you look at a calendar to remember or refer to a particular date Jesus Christ is the "reference point."  It's because of Christ that history has been divided into BC (before Christ) and AD (anno Domini, in the year of our Lord), and every event in history and every event on today's calendar corresponds to how many days it has been since Christ appeared on the earth.  Your own birthday is even dated by his birthday! On the night that Jesus was born in the town of Bethlehem, a small group of poor shepherds were in a field nearby quietly attending to their sheep. At first, nothing seemed to be different from any other night, until suddenly a bright light shone in the dark sky, and an angel appeared from above and began to speak to them.  The book of Luke 2:8-14, in the Holy Bible recounts this wonderful story to us.

Luke 2:6-14,  "And it came to pass, while they were there, the days of her giving birth to her child were fulfilled,  and she brought forth her first-born son, and wrapped him up in swaddling-clothes and laid him in the manger, because there was no room for them in the inn.  And there were shepherds in that country abiding without, and keeping watch by night over their flock.  And lo, an angel of the Lord was there by them, and the glory of the Lord shone around them, and they feared with great fear.  And the angel said to them, Fear not, for behold, I announce to you glad tidings of great joy, which shall be to all the people;  for to-day a Saviour has been born to you in David's city, who is Christ the Lord.  And this is the sign to you: ye shall find a babe wrapped in swaddling-clothes, and lying in a manger.  And suddenly there was with the angel a multitude of the heavenly host, praising God and saying,  Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace, good pleasure in men."
(The Darby Bible)

Christmas is supposed to be a time of "great joy" and celebration for all mankind.  However, many find themselves in sadness, distress and despair because of the stresses and pressures of life, the loss of loved ones or broken relationships. What is so important to remember is that God cares deeply about you regardless of your background, problems or circumstances.  Christmas is the best news of the year and of the century.  In fact, the birth of our Lord Jesus Christ is the best news ever released in history!  God gave us the greatest gift possible. He thought of you before you were even born, and decided to send His only begotten Son so that you could have a true reason to celebrate every day of the year, but especially at the remembrance of His birth.

Christmas is a time of healing, restoration, salvation and celebration! Would you like to know the Savior, Christ the Lord, right now?  Ask Him to come into your heart, forgive you of all your sins, and to cleanse you from every residue of unrighteousness. As Jesus Christ, the Son of God to heal you in your broken places, and He will make you whole.  Acknowledge Him today, and you will be saved. Refer to Romans 10:9-10 (The Holy Bible)

We wish you a Merry Christmas & Joyous Holiday Season!  You shall end the year strong & empowered in Jesus name!

I encourage you leave a comment and share this Christmas message with others in your social network so that they may be blessed also.

Kingdom Blessings!

Apostle Bethtina, I totally agree, Christmas is truly the BEST time of the year and it is a time to Celebrate. I believe that it is a time for us to reflect on the goodness of our God and how much he truly loved us! John 3:16 says God so loved the world that He gave his only begotten son: When God gave, he gave his Best gift that he could offer! He gave us Jesus! The Light of the world, our Saviour and King, Our Redeemer, Our Deliverer and our Santifier, the one that has cleansed us from our sins. What an Awesome God we serve! Father, I offer my life to you, take it and use me for your glory, in Jesus Name, Amen! Thank you Apostle, just for being you! You are an inspiration to me and I Honor God for you! Love ya and God Bless You!

Hello Nikki, thank you for your comments on our topic "Christmas is a Time of Celebration." I am glad that you enjoyed the blog & that it has encouraged you.

The birth of our Savior is something to celebrate. He was born in human flesh to experience everything that we do in the flesh and to die for mankind. I've heard people say that his death is more important than his birth, but he had to be born in order to die so in my opinion his birth is equally important for without his birth first occurring there would have been no sacrifice to save us from our sins. The spirit of this time of year brings back great memories for me because even as a child it has always been a special time for getting together with family and friends. It saddens me when someone is depressed especially this time of year because they don't fully understand that we have been given a very special gift that money couldn't buy. That gift is fitting for every occasion. That is the gift of Christ who gives us new life, new hope and purpose. I said all that to say thank you for breaking this down so that everyone is able to understand just what this time of year is all about. It should be Christmas everyday for the believer.

Hi Tracie, your comments on the blog are wonderful & are at the heart of why we celebrate during the Christmas season. I was especially blessed by your own experience as a child, and how your family came together which made Christmas even more meaningful to you. It is sad to see when others are depressed and discouraged at any time of the year & even the more at Christmas time, because it reflects a lack of understanding of how blessed we truly are by God the Father sending His only Son as a gift of salvation for us. Thank you so muvh for sharing with us. Merry Christmas!

Your comment about the importance of Jesus' birth and death really made me think more deeply about the overall impact He had on Earth. Based upon the Bible, since His birth and since His death, there has been great joy and restoration throughout the Earth. We have been set free from bondage through the birth and death of Jesus.

I've noticed how the world seems to be joyous and loving during Christmas time and even Thanksgiving time. I've noticed even those that do not believe in God or the power of Jesus, still have a sense of joy and love in the spirit. I believe this loving and joyous spirit is what God desires us to have all year long. This week's blog touched on how Jesus's life is the reference point for our calendar. With that being said, it is also important to have Jesus' life to be our reference point in regards to living in the fruit of the spirit all year long.

Christmas is a time to reflect on the Greatest gift of all, the birth of Jesus Christ. So many people in the world are truely lost and have no clue in this gift that God has given us. This is a time to spread the good news that God has a purpose for each and everyone of us, young and old, rich and poor. Let's make sure we reach out to those we haven't talked to in a while, greet people with a smile, and speak positive about one another. Remember we may just be the voice that another needs to hear. Merry Christmas!

Hello Nick, you have shared a very important message about Christmas being a time of "reflection, spreading the Word" & a time to "reach out" to others. Indeed, we might "just be the voice" that they need to hear in order to share the love, joy, kindness, and wonderful opportunity of salvation with them. Have a Merry Christ & Joyous Holiday Season!

Dr. Bethtina you stated that "Christmas is a time of healing, restoration, salvation, and celebration". I couldn't agree with you more, during this time of the year people make it a point to seek out friends or family members whom they may have lost contact with due to distant, disputes,or misunderstandings, people and organizations around the world ban together to help ensure children have gifts to open on Christmas day, and no one goes lacking, but most of all the message of the birth of Jesus, the most valuable, priceless, and precious gift given to humanity is spread abroad! He truly is the gift that keeps on giving. Merry Christmas!!!

Marsha, You are absolutely right. During this time of year practically everyone are doing things for others, traveling, preparing Christmas meals, and many other things that are traditionally associated with the Christmas holidays. However, we mustn't neglect to honor the most important reason why we celebrate Christmas, and that is in the form of a person; not just any old person, but the Son of God, Jesus Christ our Lord. As we celebrate Him, he will bless us and everything else will fall into proper alignment.

Dr. Stanley D. Williams on Sunday, December 25, 2011 10:41 PM
Christmas is a time to celebrate the birth of Christ. This event is without a doubt the most significant event in human history. Christ's birth signified that salvation had come to all mankind, now anyone who chooses to serve Him would receive eternal life. When we celebrate this season we are saying that we understand the purpose of His coming and celebrate all that He represents.

Apostle Stanley, thank you for sharing your in heart in regards to the meaning of Christmas. It is true, when we understand the significance of Christ's birth and receive the gift of eternal life then His purpose for coming is not in vain. Jesus Christ's birth was and is the undeniably the most significant event in human history.

It is especially important to me the revelation I gathered from the reference you made Apostle that, Christ's birth is the reference point for everyday of the calendar year, even our individual birthdays. This means not only were we given the gift of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, but we were given or granted the time for us to be born or to come into manifestation as a result of him fulfilling the prophecy in the time predestined. If Christ had not been born and had not died at the time he did then the needed sacrifice for us to enter into the world would not have been established, giving the enemy the right to abort the promise that is within each one of us before we were conceived. You could even say that Christmas is not only the celebration of the birth of Jesus Christ but our birth through him. God Bless You.
