Live Your Life on Purpose

I'm here to help you to straighten up the areas of your life which are chaotic and cluttered by confusion so that you can live your life on purpose with deliberate focus and intentionality.  When you do, things will become clearer, you'll have a greater sense of accomplishment, and the true purpose for which you were born will be revealed and fulfilled.

Ecclesiastes 3:1, "To every thing there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven."

Purpose reveals your potential, and potential represents your abilities. It is your abilities (gifts, talents, and skills) that will make room for you and place you before great people.  You only have a certain amount of time to fulfill your purpose and reach your greatest potential before your time is up and you're ready to transition onto eternity.  Therefore, it is extremely important for you to identify and eliminate time wasters, distractions, and manage yourself better.  You cannot manage time any more that you can stop or start it, but you can manage yourself in time.

One thing that people who are very successful do is get up early in the morning.  They get out of bed and get moving. People who are not focused and serious about fulfilling their purpose sleep late in the day, and waste time on insignificant things which do not contribute to their destiny.  While purpose is the objective, aim, resolution and intention for a thing, destiny is the future to which any person or thing is destined.

In order to reach your fullest potential, purpose and destiny you must set priorities and only add things to your schedule that are in alignment with the priorities and goals that you've already set. Setting priorities and scheduling are strategies that highly successful people have mastered.  You can become a master strategist!  You can succeed!

Begin by identifying where you plan to go, how you'll get there, and what you'll need in order to make it happen.  Write it down. It's impossible to fulfill anything significant if you don't think it's serious or important enough to create a script for it. How will anyone else take your dream seriously if you don't. Draft a mental picture of what you want for your life to look like, then write it down and proceed with the details.  Once you've filled in the details, you must take time to do research in order to obtain the resources (people, financing, certification, etc.) to fulfill it. Luke 14:28 says, "For which of you, intending to build a tower, sitteth not down first, and counteth the cost, whether he has sufficient to finish it?"

I have personally found that everything God ordains for me to do, He has also made the resources available to me in order to do it, but this has worked in tandem with my involvement, efforts, and energy being applied throughout the process. To think that things are just going to happen out of the ethereal realm and by osmosis is ridiculous.  When you have a purpose or a dream to fulfill it requires your personal involvement and faith to bring it to pass.

Believe in yourself, believe that you can succeed, surround yourself with people who believe in you and are successful, take time to do your homework, invest in yourself, take your dreams seriously, eliminate negative people from your inner circle, maximize your potential by educating yourself, focus on the area where you desire to succeed and eliminate time wasters and distractions.  Hopefully, I've shared something with you that will change your life for the better and help you reach your greatest potential.  Expect success as you "Live Your Life on Purpose."

Thank you mom for sharing with us the proper way to plan and script out what we see in the future of our individual lives. If one does not sit down and properly plan out his/her goals and also map out what they expect to come in the future, it can cause them to eventually lose sight of their goals and become sidetracked when obstacles rise. I'm very glad that my mom instilled in me these values to guarantee success in every single one of my pursuits, whether minor or major.

Jonathan, my son, thank you so much for hearing, listening and learning these wisdom principles at such a young age in your life. Proverbs 4:5-8, says, "Get wisdom, get understanding: forget it not; neither decline from the words of my mouth. Forsake her not, and she shall preserve thee: love her, and she shall keep thee. Wisdom is the principal thing; therefore get wisdom: and with all thy getting get understanding. Exalt her, and she shall promote thee: she shall bring thee to honour, when thou dost embrace her." This has always been and will continue to be what I teach and live, because these principles from the word of God will keep, guide, and bring you into the fullness of your destiny with great aand satisfaction. I believe God will bring great things to pass in your life as you continue to serve Him and keep His commandments. Optimum Blessings!

Such an awesome blog! What really caught my eye was the statement "you cannot manage time any more than you can stop it or start it, but you can manage yourself in time". I am finding more & more each day that time is such a precious commodity, and it is for that reason that I try to be conscious of time wasters, those things that don't add, but detract from my purpose. Keeping myself in check or another way I can say it is doing a self check each day helps me to live my life on purpose and remain on the path that leads me to fulfilling my God given purpose and become the successful woman that I was created to be. Thank you Dr. Bethtina Williams!

Toiya, thank you for sharing your thoughts on the blog. Time waits for no man. It has been released by God, we were born into it, and must endeavor to maximize our efforts towards fulfilled His purpose while we are here on earth. Time will do two things - it will reveal what we've done, and what we've failed to do. Therefore, planning, executing plans, and following through with them are essential elements to our success in life. God bless you. Think Big, Expect the Best!!!

Living your life on purpose suggests that you know your purpose. If you know your purpose then you know where you are going. When a person knows where they are going and becomes purposefully focused on it joy comes. The perfect example of this is exemplified in the life of Jesus, note the following passage: Hebrews 12:2, "Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God." I want you to note the word "before" listed in Hebrews 12:2, by using before here the writer lets us know that something preceded Jesus that thing being joy. This word joy further signifies that Jesus knew exactly where He was going and it made Him happy. Being on the right track with God will bring you joy and more excitement than you can ever imagine. Jesus knew where He was going this is clear because He clearly briefed the disciples. This fact was so clear until Peter took it upon Himself the rebuke the master. Knowing true purpose is only realistic if you tap into the source of true purpose, intimacy. God will reveal to those who are intimate with Him His mind regarding their destiny; remember the prayer life of Jesus. Therefore it is imperative that you not only have focus, vision, discipline, time management skills but above all intimacy with God. Purpose in a real sense is sight because people with purpose see the goal first and then promptly pursue. Blind people have to have guidance because they can't see. People with sight become guides by virtue of the fact that they can see. Discovering purpose makes you the opposite of "the blind leading the blind", you become the seeing who lead. Each of us should have this as our major goal in life that is to leave this planet having fulfilled the exact destiny God had in mind when He created us.

Chief Apostle, thank you for sharing your tremendous insight and wisdom on our community blog. It is deeply appreciated! You shared something that is very simple, yet profound, "when you know your purpose, you know where you're going, and when you know where you are going it brings great joy just as Jesus experienced in spite of His journey to the Cross on His way back to His Father." As you shared that purpose does bring sight, which comes as a result of prayer. Prayer also brings focus, vision, discipline, which enable you to fulfill purpose and destiny. God bless you, and we always enjoy your contribution to the blog.

I totally agree with Apostle Stanley's comment. In order to live on purpose we must first identify our purpose so that we can plan accordingly. once we know what our purpose is it will become easier to identify the distractions and time wasters that prevent us from reaching our ultimate goal. Strategic planning is very important because it is sometimes easier said than done to stay focused and manage ourselves in time. If its something new it will take a little effort so that we don't allow ourselves to slack off and revert back to old ways of managing ourselves. Thank you for the insight and wisdom to help get us on the right track. God bless you Apostle Beth.

I believe it is very important that we understand what our purpose is so that we are not wasting time doing something that we were never sent to do! Often time so many voices are speaking and saying what they think you should do or be, but who knows best than the one who created us, God Almighty! Once purpose is discovered, I believe it will be much easier to walk it out, because now you know and can see were you are going! Thanks Apostle, Love ya!

To fulfill a purpose, one must have the determination to move forward. It has become very common in our society of individuals who go through life without having a determined mind which creates and accomplishes goals. We come up with so many excuses and reasons for not having the ability to accomplish things, when in actuality we have the ability through Christ. I love how Dr. Bethtina highlighted a couple of key factors in which one can bring a dream or purpose to pass. Dr. Bethtina mentioned how it requires faith and personal involvement to bring a dream or purpose to its entirety. The purpose must become real to that individual otherwise that person will often struggle in initiating the purpose or walking the purpose out.

Well spoken Candice! The fact that you so clearly and carefully highlighted the importance of taking initiative and responsibility of one's own accomplishments is most notable. Generally, most people either blame others for failed initiatives or faith to admit and recognize a lack of determination or participation on their part caused their purpose to go unfulfilled. We are the master's of our destiny. After all destiny is not left up to chance, but it's a matter of choice! Thank you for sharing your comments on our community blog. They are truly appreciated.

The purpose of the Father for sending His son (Jesus the Christ) is to restore the Kingdom of God in the hearts of man. We are part of God's restoration process. Each one us have an important part to play. To know our purpose is to know the Father. We can't separate our purpose from the Father. Many are guilty of seeking their purpose without seeking the Father. Only the Father knows why He sent you to this realm through the seed of a man and the womb of the woman. Only the maker of a product knows the complexities of the product. Only the maker of a product can direct and guide us on how to use the product properly. To know the Father is to rediscover & restore the Kingdom of God.

Excellent! Allen, you have spoken volumes as to the importance of going to God first to discover His purpose for our lives. Anything outside His will for our lives isn't success. It's failure to do what He, who is our creator, sent us to do for Him. Therefore, a life that is lived void of knowing with will and purpose of God is a life that has been lived in vain. God bless you and thank you for sharing your comments with us.
