To everything there is a season, and a time to every purpose under heaven. Ecclesiastes 3:1 KJV
Christmas is the greatest time of celebration all over the world. While other holidays are recognized in a single day, Christmas is celebrated for a whole month. At Christmas time people begin to do many special things like sending out greetings cards, decorating their homes, buying gifts, attending Christmas parties, singing Christmas carols, attending church services, and traveling to see their families and loved ones. When you really think about it, it's amazing that the birth of a little baby who was born in a manager over two thousand years ago continues to cause the greatest stir around the entire world - throughout various countries and cultures of people. Did you know that every time you look at a calendar to remember or refer to a particular date Jesus Christ is the "reference point." It's because of Christ that history has been divided into BC (before Christ) and AD (anno Domini, in the year of our Lord), and every event in history and every event on today's calendar corresponds to how many days it has been since Christ appeared on the earth. Your own birthday is even dated by his birthday! On the night that Jesus was born in the town of Bethlehem, a small group of poor shepherds were in a field nearby quietly attending to their sheep. At first, nothing seemed to be different from any other night, until suddenly a bright light shone in the dark sky, and an angel appeared from above and began to speak to them. The book of Luke 2:8-14, in the Holy Bible recounts this wonderful story to us.
Luke 2:6-14, "And it came to pass, while they were there, the days of her giving birth to her child were fulfilled, and she brought forth her first-born son, and wrapped him up in swaddling-clothes and laid him in the manger, because there was no room for them in the inn. And there were shepherds in that country abiding without, and keeping watch by night over their flock. And lo, an angel of the Lord was there by them, and the glory of the Lord shone around them, and they feared with great fear. And the angel said to them, Fear not, for behold, I announce to you glad tidings of great joy, which shall be to all the people; for to-day a Saviour has been born to you in David's city, who is Christ the Lord. And this is the sign to you: ye shall find a babe wrapped in swaddling-clothes, and lying in a manger. And suddenly there was with the angel a multitude of the heavenly host, praising God and saying, Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace, good pleasure in men."
(The Darby Bible)
Christmas is supposed to be a time of "great joy" and celebration for all mankind. However, many find themselves in sadness, distress and despair because of the stresses and pressures of life, the loss of loved ones or broken relationships. What is so important to remember is that God cares deeply about you regardless of your background, problems or circumstances. Christmas is the best news of the year and of the century. In fact, the birth of our Lord Jesus Christ is the best news ever released in history! God gave us the greatest gift possible. He thought of you before you were even born, and decided to send His only begotten Son so that you could have a true reason to celebrate every day of the year, but especially at the remembrance of His birth.
Christmas is a time of healing, restoration, salvation and celebration! Would you like to know the Savior, Christ the Lord, right now? Ask Him to come into your heart, forgive you of all your sins, and to cleanse you from every residue of unrighteousness. As Jesus Christ, the Son of God to heal you in your broken places, and He will make you whole. Acknowledge Him today, and you will be saved. Refer to Romans 10:9-10 (The Holy Bible)
We wish you a Merry Christmas & Joyous Holiday Season! You shall end the year strong & empowered in Jesus name!
