The World is Looking for Leadership

The world is looking for leadership that is effective in articulating clear direction, strategies, transparency in character, discipline and integrity. As Christians it is vitally important for us to exemplify the leadership principles and character of Jesus Christ our Lord everywhere.

Leadership is defined as the action of leading a group of people or an organization. In short leadership is influence. Some of the synonyms that expound upon the meaning of leadership are guidance, direction, control, management, superintendence, supervision, organization, firm leadership and government.  Leadership also includes:

  • the state or position of being a leader, as in "the leadership of the party" with synonyms such as directorship, governorship, governance, administration, captaincy, control, ascendancy, supremacy, rule, command, power, dominion, and influence.
  • Inclusive of the leaders of an organization, country, etc.

Whether you know it or not, there is a leader on the inside of you, and we want to awaken the power of your potential so that you can actively use it to influence your community, church, industry and field of expertise for the glory of God.

Leadership consists of creating a vision, developing strategies, aligning, motivating, inspiring, and energizing people, as well as establishing direction.  Leaders are difference makers who motivate people to a conscious awareness of righteous standards and godliness, which is precisely what is desperately needed throughout our communities in America and around the world.

Many people make the mistake of confusing management with being the same as leadership, but they are not the same.  Traditionally, management consists of planning, budgeting, organizing, staffing, directing, and controlling; whereas even though leadership encompasses management it is much greater than management alone.

A leader is someone who is willing to take a stand regardless of how difficult things may be. A leader also has a conscious awareness of what is at stake at any given time and exhibits the character, commitment and passion to deal with the issues and challenges at hand.  While not everyone is the leader of a country or organization, everyone can embrace and uphold the characteristics of leadership in their perspective field, industry, and place of responsibility.

There are several characteristics of leadership which can be embraced and implemented by anyone regardless of the role they fill.  These are characteristics that you can employ during your involvement and role anywhere you are.

Leaders are visionaries who dare to dream and see beyond that which is obvious. This is a very important characteristic, because a leader is one who is motivated to move forward progressively with a clearly defined vision. Those who interact and work with leaders need to be able to see as well, and be willing to take the initiative to fulfill the vision of the leader of their organization. In doing so, those who are assigned to the main leader can help ensure that the vision is communicated and followed in harmony and alignment which culminates with its fulfillment.  (Ref. Habakkuk 2:1-2)

Leaders grow through being challenged. When a leader is challenged they respond with mature character and meet the challenge head on with a clear strategy that takes the possibilities into consideration. When a leader is challenged they understand that withdrawing their commitment and responsibility to leadership is not the answer or solution. Leaders work it out, assess the challenges, consider the possibilities and respond favorably and appropriately. Jesus was committed to His leadership responsibility to the end.  Even though His disciples, all except John the Beloved, deserted him, Jesus was fully committed in spite of the extremely challenging situation that He faced. It is important to note that instead of the disciples abandoning the Lord, they should have stayed by His side and maintained their commitment along with Him until the very end. (Ref. Matthew 26:36-56; Matthew 27:33-56)

   • Great leaders identify and develop other leaders. They encourage the development of skills, talents and abilities in others to achieve great results through mentorship.  They also engage in sharpening the leadership characteristics in individuals to form a cohesive winning team through knowledge, demonstration, implementation, observation, feedback, and inspiration.  "Jesus said, "Come follow Me, and I will make you fishers of men." (Mark 1:17; Luke 11:1-13; John 14:12)

   • A great leader uses their power and influence to encourage and empower others. Leaders empower and encourage people to contribute their expertise and best efforts with the understanding that more can be accomplished with the efforts and contributions of others. The importance of enlisting the assistance and help of capable people who have the gifting, skill and expertise to be an asset in accomplishing the goal of an organization is invaluable. Every good leader realizes that a vision and mission cannot be accomplished without the value added principle of people who believe in the vision set forth and are willing to commit and contribute in a meaningful way to its fulfillment.

   • Leaders set high goals and understand how they can be achieved while others may only see them as impossible.  A true leader knows how to successfully integrate their goals with their vision on order to achieve and accomplish them.  This is an extremely powerful characteristic of leadership, because leaders don't make excuses. They know how to get things done seemingly effortlessly with wisdom and understanding of the overall benefit to everyone involved in fulfilling goals while working with multiple facets and responsibilities congruently.  (Philippians 4:13)

   • Leaders communicate effectively. A leader is not only capable of clearly articulating their message to others, but they are also good listeners knowing that other people will help get things done.  Those who work directly with main leaders should be able to articulate and convey the leaders message with clarity exactly as it was communicated with them.  These are individuals who become owners of the vision and get things done as leaders in their respective positions of responsibility.  (Acts 2:14-17)

   • Leaders are individuals who set high standards and live according to them. They are dedicated to their calling, and reach beyond the average daily lifestyle that others settle for, because leaders believe in God's calling upon their lives and are willing to make the sacrifices required to fulfill it with excellence and grace as unto the Lord.  (Psalm 8:1; Philippians 3:12-14)

   • Leaders understand timeliness, and are not procrastinators.  Effective leaders understand that leadership is action not position. They are aware and knowledgeable about what needs to be done, and they take the initiative to execute getting the job done with haste and timeliness.  When working in assistance with other leaders, they carry out the requests of their supervisor or senior leader with diligence understanding that timeliness and proper execution of tasks and responsibilities is of great importance to the overall success and mission of the organization.  People who are slow to respond and take action are a liability to any group, organization, or company. Those who are of excellence on the other hand take initiative and respond quickly, which creates momentum in the organization.  If you want to see your organization rise to the highest level increase the degree of timeliness in which you take action, especially in regards to directives that are given by your leader.  (Ref. 1 Samuel 21:8) "David asked Ahimelek, "Don't you have a spear or a sword here? ... because the king's business demands haste."

Let me encourage you to embrace the leader inside of you, and exemplify the strength, courage and character that is essential to being the best leader possible.  Whether you are a leader privately in your home, or a leader in your community, church, government, in education or otherwise; be an example that others can follow and glean from as you carry out the responsibilities entrusted to you faithfully. An important note is that leaders are those who serve first, and have given of their time, energy, strength, gifts, skills and abilities to help build, sustain and carry out the vision of someone else prior to obtaining their own. The world is looking for the leader in you. You can make a difference!  (Ref. 1 Corinthians 4:2; 2 Timothy 2:2; Titus 1:7-9)

His Lord said to him, 'Well done, good and faithful servant; you have been faithful over a few things, I will make you ruler over many things. Enter into the joy of your Lord.' (Matthew 25:23, NKJV)

The Power of God's Word to Change Your Life!

The body of Christ is facing a fundamental dilemma, and is going through a serious struggle.  All too often, the people of God are settling for less than the very best that God has planned for them under the guise of saying things like "I may not be where I ought to be, but thank God that I'm not where I use to be" in order to make excuses for sin, disobedience and falling short of the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus.  But God is not amused nor impressed by the lackadaisical way in which those who are suppose to be called by His name are living while they still call themselves Christians, because the Bible lets us know that when the word of God enters into a person's heart it brings about a change and transformation of the heart and lifestyle. The power of God's word takes us through a transformational process by sanctifying and cleansing us from sin. (Ephesians 5:26-27; John 17:17)

26, That he might sanctify [to set apart, consecrate unto Himself] and cleanse it with the washing of water by the word,
27, That he might present it to himself a glorious church, not having spot, or wrinkle, or any such thing; but that it should be holy and without blemish.

How can we who have baptized into Christ continue in sin that grace may abound? The Bible says, "God forbid." (Romans 6:1-7)  Therefore, it is imperative that we take a good look deep within ourselves and ask the question "why am I still repeating the same old sins of disobedience time after time when the Lord has made the way for me to be free?  Is it because I still have some rebellion lurking and operating in my heart, or do I really desire to change from the inside out?"  No sin is hidden before God's eyes, even those which are done in secret can clearly be seen by God.  The Bible tells us that "...all things are naked [clearly revealed] and open [visible] before the eyes of Him with whom we have to do."  (Hebrews 4:13, KJV)

You have to be transparent and honest with God as David said in the book of Psalms 51:1-7, KJV. It reads as follows:

1, Have mercy upon me, O God, according to thy loving kindness: according unto the multitude of thy tender mercies blot out my transgressions.
2, Wash me throughly from mine iniquity, and cleanse me from my sin.
3, For I acknowledge my transgressions: and my sin is ever before me.
4, Against thee, thee only, have I sinned, and done this evil in thy sight: that thou mightest be justified when thou speakest, and be clear when thou judgest.
5, Behold, I was shapen in iniquity; and in sin did my mother conceive me.
6, Behold, thou desirest truth in the inward parts: and in the hidden part thou shalt make me to know wisdom.
7, Purge me with hyssop, and I shall be clean: wash me, and I shall be whiter than snow.

You see, our love and reverence for God should outweigh the sins of omission that are a result of immaturity.  Like David, we need hearts that are yielded before God in complete transparency and contrition, which is required for real deliverance, healing and restoration to take place. It is then and only then that your heart can truly be washed and cleansed by the Spirit of God working through the power of His word.  We're are in a crises in the body of Christ, and are in dire need of purification so that the Spirit of the Lord can perfect that which concerns us, and His glory can be revealed unto the world.  When you make a decision to stop making excuses for disobedience and begin to acknowledge God for who He is, then a transformation process will take place. (Romans 12:1-2) In order to do so, you must truly love the Lord and fear Him with a deep sense of reverence and honor, understanding that He's holy and just in all of His ways.

As people of God, He is calling on us to walk in power and victory, and be free from every yoke of bondage and the sin that so easily besets us (Heb. 12:1).  Sin weakens you spiritually and ruins your ability to witness.  We do not have time to live a lie, keep making excuses for why we are not serving God fully with the spirit of excellence, and neglecting so great a salvation by not allowing the power of God's word to change our hearts.  Acts 17:30, KJV says, "And the times of this ignorance God winked at; but now commandeth all men every where to repent."  There comes a time when God, who is no respect of persons, "commandeth" which is a direct demand that everyone, no matter who you are, what your stature is, or where you live, repent and have a change of mind, attitude, and heart; amending one's ways from sin to godliness so that those who see us can recognize the image and character of Christ living inside of us.

The Bible lets us know clearly that "in the last days perilous [dangerous, hard to deal with, difficult] times shall come. Men will be lovers of their own selves...rather than lovers of God."  It goes on further to say that, having a form [similitude or appearance] of godliness, but denying, [disallowing the operation and affect of] the power and authority thereof, from such turn away. This pertains to the kind of power that is inherent through a genuine relationship with God through the authority of His word and prayer that brings corresponding change that has a lasting effect; a change that transforms the heart and mind into what God desires. (2 Timothy 3:1-5)  It also denotes that there are those who willfully and knowingly choose not to obey the word of God, but deny its power and authority to change their hearts.  The Scripture clearly instructs those who faithfully submit to God's word to "turn away" from those who "deny" its authority and power so as not to be corrupted by their disobedience. In truth and reality, the Church ought to be filled with people who love the Lord deeply and passionately with knowledge so that the word of God is affecting change more and more everyday.

The condition of the Church, and of those who are members of the body of Christ should not be a reflection of the spirit and behavior of the world, which is hostile in nature to Christ, but there is suppose to be a difference in how we live.  The attitude of our hearts should be pure, holy and undefiled or jaded. Our lives should be hidden in Christ Jesus, and we ought to be given to the power of prayer and love of God's word through a lifestyle of faithful obedience to Him.  When those who know to do right do it not, it's sin.  Therefore, as people of God we must adhere to a higher standard and rise above the level of degradation and sin that is in the world, unto the righteousness which is of God in Christ Jesus so that we can pray effectively and affect change around the world in Jesus name!! We are called to be change agents not conformists!!  The Kingdom of God needs sanctified doctors, sanctified lawyers and judges, sanctified school teachers and professors, sanctified officials in government, and Holy Spirit filled presidents and prime ministers. In other words, as an integral part of the Kingdom of God, the Church doesn't have time to languish on the fundamentals of a basic level forever. We have a greater work to do in affecting the world in our generation for God's glory.  Nations are being weighed in the balance while we have been given the answer and solution to their dilemma. We simply don't have time to waste.

Jesus is coming back again and Bible prophecy is being fulfilled right before our eyes, but the question is "will He find faith when He comes?" (Luke 18:8)  Will you be found faithfully executing the will of God through your life by the power of His word and effectively praying and interceding on behalf of the nations, leaders, pastors, churches, ministries, missionaries, marriages, families, youth, and others who don't know the Lord as their Savior?  Or, will you forever be making excuses?  Will you surrender your all to God today, and allow Him to perfect that which concerns you?  Are you in love enough with God and hungry enough to passionately seek Him with your whole heart?  Are you willing to be as transparent as David was when he admitted and confessed his sins before God so that you can be cleansed and set free by the Spirit of the Lord?  God wants to release His power and glory upon your life. He wants to fill you up again, but you must first be willing to allow the word of God to affect change in your heart until your life is transformed from darkness into His marvelous light, and you will never be the same again.  God is looking for those in whom He can show Himself strong. (2 Chronicles 16:9)

"For the eyes of the Lord run to and fro throughout the whole earth, to shew Himself strong in the behalf of them whose heart is perfect toward him."  KJV

Let it be you today.  Make a decision to draw a line in the sand and say "God, my answer is YES!  YES, LORD YES!!!" If you say it and mean it with all of your heart, God will use you as a catalyst of change and you will see the manifestation of God's immeasurable power and glory revealed as never before through your life in Jesus wonderful name. Amen.

We truly hope and pray that you have been richly blessed by the message that has been shared from the word of God.  Be sure to share your comments with us, and may God bless you richly by the indwelling power of His Spirit each and every day until Christ returns.

What is Fatherhood?

Happy Father's Day!!!

We live in a time when guidance for children is absolutely necessary. Therefore, it imperative that we understand that one of the most important roles of Father is that of a guide.  The essence of fatherhood involves responsibility, commitment, self-sacrifice, unconditional love and integrity from a man who is actively involved in the lives of his children and are aware of their needs. It is for this reason that absent Fathers leave a void in the lives of their children.  If we use Jesus as our example, He deeply respected His Father to the point that He said that "I do only what I see my Father do."  John 5:19 says, "Then answered Jesus and said unto them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, The Son can do nothing of himself, but what he seeth the Father do: for what things soever he doeth, these also doeth the Son likewise."  God is the highest and premier example of a Father, so much so that Jesus could literally follow His example fully during the course of His life and ministry here on earth.

In the natural, we see the epitome of a father in Abraham.  His character as a father was established so strong until God Himself said "I know Abraham."  Genesis 18:19 says, "For I know him, that he will command his children and his household after him, and they shall keep the way of the LORD, to do justice and judgment; that the LORD may bring upon Abraham that which he hath spoken of him."  The conversation that was framed here is clearly about children and the future of a nation. God knew that Abraham would lead his children and teach his children to follow after him in righteousness, and become men and women of faith.

As Fathers we have been given the responsibility of shaping the next generation of men and women of God as is clearly stated in the book of Malachi where God challenged the fathers of Israel to understand that their purpose was to raise up godly seed.  Malachi 2:15, "And did not he make one? Yet had he the residue of the spirit. And wherefore one? That he might seek a godly seed. Therefore take heed to your spirit, and let none deal treacherously against the wife of his youth.”

A father holds the key to how his son will treat a woman and how his daughter will understand a man.  None of this discussion suggests that the mother is not important, but it does suggest that the man must be present in order to bring proper balance to the seed or children that spring from a marital relationship.  Jacob and Esau are also classic examples of two young men who sought the blessing of their father. It was important to that generation that they not only honor, but also receive the good wishes and blessing of their father.

Finally, Shem and Japheth, Noah's sons, honored their father.  Even though Noah had made a mistake they walked backwards and covered him.  It is obvious that Noah had done some things right because at least two of his son’s recognized what it meant to love and respect a father.

On this father’s day I am encouraging everyone to respect and honor your father, even the ones who may not have been perfect.  The Bible says honor both your father and mother that your days may be long upon the earth.  There is a blessing linked to honoring the man you call father.

The Coming War of Gog and Magog

Blessings grace and peace be with you in the majestic name of our Lord and King Jesus Christ!  As many Christians and people across America and around the world are aware of recent events pertaining to what is happening with Russia and the Ukraine, as well as the recent attempts by the U.S. to broker a peace agreement between Israel and the Palestinians, all must understand that Bible prophecy is being fulfilled right before our eyes. The following information will stimulate your interest and also reveal the need to pray for America, salvation of souls and the nation of Israel as we journey into the fulfillment of end-time prophecy.  Please share it and leave your comments.

The winds of war are brewing in the Middle East and they aren’t the “run of the mill, what you see on the news, day after day, year after year” skirmishes between Israel and their neighboring adversaries. Ezekiel Chapter 38 portrays Gog as a conquering military leader. If Putin is Gog as many observers suspect, Crimea and Georgia may just be the beginning. It is a war of great magnitude that is thought to be the trigger war that will culminate in Armageddon. And interestingly enough Jews, Muslims and Christians seem to agree on the basic premise that indeed, an “end of days war” in the making right before our eyes.

Jews are talking about the possibility that Russia’s annexation of Crimea is a prophesied sign that Messiah is soon to come. Sunni and Shi’ite Muslims fighting each other in Syria believe the battle there will spread to Israel and is their sign that that a global Caliphate (supreme religious and political leader; successor to Mohammad) will be soon be established and the Shi’ite messiah figure, the Imam Madi will soon appear.

Bible-believing Christians have been intensely watching events in the Middle East for the past several years as they have noted the gradual development of a tight military relationship between Iran and Russia, the key aggressors in the end-times war on Israel described in Ezekiel Chapters 38 and 39, commonly referred to as the war of Gog Magog. And now, Israeli news writer for, Chemi Shaley, says, “observers are closely watching developments in the Ukraine based on the idea that it could generate the conflict with Gog and Magog, one of the Bible’s heralds of the end times and the return of the Messiah.”

Jews view the war of Gog and Magog as the event which immediately precedes messianic days, as Shaley notes, “Christians aren’t the only ones who are getting excited about the standoff in Eastern Europe. According to a report catching fire over the weekend in the Haredi press in Israel, the Gaon Rabbi Moshe Shternbuch told his disciples this week that the times of the Messiah are upon us. And who is the source for his amazing analysis? None other than one of the top Jewish sages of all time, the Vilna Gaon himself, the Gra, ‘the genius of Vilnius,’ the famously harsh critic of Hasidic Judaism.” The report continues, “According to Shternbuch, he is privy to a closely guarded secret handed down from the 18th Century Vilna Gaon through generations of revered rabbis: ‘When you hear that the Russians have captured the city of Crimea, you should know that the times of the Messiah have started, that his steps are being heard. And when you hear that the Russians have reached the city of Constantinople (today’s Istanbul), you should put on your Shabbat clothes and don’t take them off, because it means that the Messiah is about to come any minute."

Chemi Shaley writes that Josephus Flavius, “the turncoat Jewish historian who chronicled the Masada saga,” theorized the Scythians, who lived in the central Eurasian region until the 4th century, lived in the land of Magog, “as in Gog and Magog, as in the war of Gog and Magog, as in the biblical prelude to the End of Days.” “Which is one of the many reasons why recent events in the Ukraine have created a buzz among legions of apocalypse-anticipating true believers. This could be the real thing, they tell themselves, the big time, the major leagues, not the end of the beginning, to quote Winston Churchill in reverse, but the beginning of the end. And it is Vladimir Putin, aka Gog, aka King of the North, who has set things in motion.”

“You only have to read Ezekiel chapters 38-39, the widely accepted handbook and screenplay for the upcoming decimation. According to traditional translations of verse 2 of Chapter 38, Gog is the ‘chief prince of Meshech and Tuval,’ ancient kingdoms also near the Black Sea. But the term used for ‘chief prince’ in Hebrew is ‘nesi rosh’: Nesi could also mean ‘ruler’ or ‘president,’ and some scholars believe that ‘rosh’ is not an adjective, at all, but a noun denoting the name of yet another nation that will enter the fray. So Gog is the prince of Rosh, or the president of Rosh, or, with a little bit of help, the president of Russia.”
“And who will ride with Gog? Why Persia, of course, as specified in verse 5. And possibly Turkey, Libya and Sudan, though only Turkey seems capable these days. And why will they all gang up on Israel?

The Internet site Remnant Report explains: 1) To acquire more territory (Ezekiel 38:8). 2) To plunder Israel’s wealth (38:12) (Israel’s newly discovered vast reserves of natural gas and oil in the Mediterranean, of course, CS). 3) To destroy the Jews (38:11, 16). And 4) To challenge the authority of the Antichrist who will temporarily be Israel’s ally due to a treaty mentioned in Daniel 9:27, ‘That ruler will have a firm agreement with many people for seven years.’”

Mariam Karouny reports that “Iranian forces battle anti Shi’ite fighters in Damascus and the region braces for an ultimate showdown” which is expected to spread to Jerusalem. From the Islamic viewpoint, the Syrian conflict appears to be the fulfillment of prophetic expectations foretold by the prophet Mohammed in the 7th century and many of his current day followers, in particular the Sunni and Shi’ite sects who are battling against one another in the belief that they are fighting the battle that will lead to the establishment of an “Islamic state which will rule the world before total chaos.” Karouny writes, “the hadith, or sayings of the prophet Mohammed and his companions, have been handed down orally over the centuries and are the most important sources of authority in Islam after the Quaran itself. Many date back to those medieval battlefields in what are now Syria and Iraq, where the two main Islamic sects took shape.”

Both the Sunni and Shi’ite Hadith mention Syria as a main battlefield, naming cities and towns where blood will be spilled.” “Hundreds of thousands of people will be killed. The whole region will be shaken from the Arabian peninsula to Iraq, Iraq and Jerusalem, according to some texts.” “Syria’s civil war built upon sectarian conflicts elsewhere, especially in Iraq and Lebannon, is leading to a growing sense across the region that all those power struggles in individual countries were part of a titanic battle for the future.”
“Abu Hsaasan, a 65 year-old pensioner from southern Lebanon, said he once thought the prophecies of the end of days would take centuries to come about.” “Things are moving fast. I never thought that I would be living the day of the Imam. Now, with every passing day, I am more and more convinced that it is only a matter of a few years before he appears.”   [Ref. Columnest, Maryann Gearheart, April 2014]

Even Muslims comprehend what time it is, and the prophetic nature of the day that we are living in while much of the "Church" is geared to a "seeker friendly" agenda that creates a lukewarm spiritual diet that is almost completely void of emphasis on holiness, daily Bible reading, unity, prayer and submission to pastors as spiritual watchmen and shepherds in accordance with the Word of God. This is a time for sobriety, prayer and faithful submission the the Great Commission. Not only is it extremely clear and evident that we are living in the last days, but most importantly we must focus our attention on preparing ourselves spiritually for the return of our Lord Jesus Christ for His bride, the Church.

The 2014 - 2015 Blood Moons Tetrad

I believe that it is very clear and easy to recognize that we are living in the last days. The signs of the times that are spoken of in the Bible, which pertain to the end of the world as we know it today, including the rapture of the Church as well as the second coming of Christ are occurring more rapidly now than ever before in history.  You can easily look at the news and see headlines that are a confirmation of Biblical prophecy almost every day.  While I'm not saying that Christ is going to return this year or next year, there are some amazing things that are going to occur that will have a significant precedence and impact on the future of the world in such a way that it will bring tremendous blessings upon the righteous who honor the Word of God and recognize what is happening, but it will also bring great destruction to those who are unrighteous, who reject Jesus Christ and the Scriptures. Furthermore, I believe that God has given the Bible to us to help prepare us for the last days, so that we aren't frightened or taken by surprise.

"And afterward, I will pour out my Spirit on all people. Your sons and daughters will prophesy, your old men will dream dreams, your young men will see visions. 29 Even on my servants, both men and women, I will pour out my Spirit in those days. 30 I will show wonders in the heavens and on the earth, blood and fire and billows of smoke. 31 The sun will be turned to darkness and the moon to blood before the coming of the great and dreadful day of the LORD. 32 And everyone who calls on the name of the LORD will be saved; for on Mount Zion and in Jerusalem there will be deliverance, as the LORD has said, among the survivors whom the LORD calls." (Joel 2:28-32, NIV)

Luke 21:28, says, "And when these things begin to come to pass, then look up, and lift up your heads; for your redemption draweth nigh."  (KJV)

"The 2014 - 2015 Blood Moons Tetrad" pertains to a set of four consecutive lunar eclipses of the moon that will occur on the exact dates of four Jewish holidays (Passover and the Feast of Tabernacles), which will happen in both 2014 and 2015. A blood moon is a complete and total eclipse of the moon that causes it to appear bloody red.  The National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA), has done extensive research on the subject.  They looked down the road 100 years and said that this will never happen again in this century.  Since the time of Christ, there have only been four blood moons just seven times.  Biblically seven is the number of perfection.  This coming Passover, April 15th, will be the eighth time of the "Blood Moon Tetrad", and according to the Bible eight is the number of "New Beginnings", but none of the other blood moons have happened during a year of Jubilee which signifies a great transfer of wealth and release from debt for God's people, but a great time of punishment for the unrighteous.  A major shift is about to take place in the world, and I believe it's going to happen in the near future, but we know that our future is good!  Praise God!

According to the Jewish Talmud Sukkah 29a, "when the moon is in eclipse, it is a bad omen for Israel. If its face is red as blood, it is a sign that the sword is coming to the world." Jewish Rabbi's for many 100's of years have followed the positioning of the sun and moon and they've also followed the positioning of sackcloth suns (total eclipses of the sun), bloody moons and comets.  As a result, hey have come up with an elaborate way of discerning the signs of the heavens how it will affect events on earth.
In Genesis 1:14, the Scripture says that the sun, moon, and stars were given for signs and seasons.  Please note that as Christians we are not suppose to observe the constellations and categorize people under certain signs that have bearing on their personal lives as with horoscopes and astrology. This practice is forbidden in Deuteronomy 4:19.
According to the Bible, the sun, moon, and stars are for signs and seasons to ancient Israel, which they began to discover when they saw that within 4 years of a comet there would be a major war some where. These signs give us clear evidence of what's going to happen.  Examples: 66 AD (Halley's Comet appeared) and 4 years later in 70 AD the Temple was Destroyed; in 1910 (Halley's Comet appeared) and in 1914 WWI took place; in 1988 (Halley's Comet appeared) and in 1992 Gulf War erupted.  Then, "During the Passover and Feast of Tabernacles of 1949-1950, the four blood moons marked the birth of Israel in 1948 and the first Arab-Israeli War which was fought from May 15, 1948 until March 10, 1949.  The tetrad blood moons ushered in the Six Day War in 1967, when Israel miraculously overcame great odds against an Arab coalition army determined to destroy them. A convergence of other world events took place in a volatile 1968 which included the assassinations of Martin Luther King, Jr., and Robert F. Kennedy." [Source, The Examiner, March 6, 2014]

In order to understand what things will come to pass, we must read Luke 21 and Matthew 24. Jesus was speaking to His disciples about His return. Virtually the entire chapter is a response to the disciples' questions "...when shall these things be? and what sign will there be when these things shall come to pass?" (verse 7). Matthew 24:3, reveals more details: "Tell us, when shall these things be? and what shall be the sign of thy coming, and of the end of the world?" Then Jesus lists the events that will take place. In Matthew 24, the word "shall" is repeated 59 times. He talks about war between nations. Then the Lord mentions great earthquakes, famines and pestilences, and He also emphasizes that first there shall be great persecution.

We know that the first century church suffered great persecution as seen in the book of Acts 8:1.  This has continued for centuries even until today. While physical persecution is limited to some African, Middle Eastern and Asian nations, we must never think that we have been spared from persecution. However, persecution in the western world to a large degree is not physical. The persecution we experience is more subtle and it is taking place in the midst of the Church. I am speaking of the persecution against those who boldly proclaim the truth of the Scriptures with conviction. For example, you will find that the vast majority of Christian churches are beginning to reject the literal interpretation and validity of the Scriptures, and cater to pleasing people rather than obeying the Word of God. Those of us who believe that God's Word is infallible and true are being rejected and considered to be narrow thinkers, close minded, intolerant, odd balls. It is not my intention to give you details on this matter to discourage you, but in reality "Truth" is being persecuted. (Ref. 2 Timothy 4:3) Jesus warns of that the time would come when these things would occur, not only to the church, but more profoundly to Israel. He provides us with a geographical reference in the book of Luke 21:20, 21, 24 " shall see Jerusalem compassed with armies...let them which are in Judea flee to the mountains...Jerusalem shall be trodden down of the Gentiles."  This is pertaining to tribulation occurring in the land of Israel.

In the book of Amos 3:7, it lets is know that, "...the Lord God will do nothing, but he revealeth his secret unto his servants the prophets."  I have said all of that to lay the foundation for what I'm about to share with you now.  So, I urge you to pay close prayerful attention to what is being conveyed and shared with you.

1 Thessalonians 5:1-4, says, "But of the times and the seasons, brethren, ye have no need that I write unto you. For yourselves know perfectly that the day of the Lord so cometh as a thief in the night. For when they shall say, Peace and safety; then sudden destruction cometh upon them, as travail upon a woman with child; and they shall not escape. But ye, brethren, are not in darkness, that that day should overtake you as a thief.  (KJV)

Again, Genesis 1:14, says, "
And God said, Let there be lights in the firmament of the heaven to divide the day from the night; and let them be for signs, and for seasons, and for days, and years."  (KJV)  God has ensured that His people would not be left in the dark, deceived or caught by surprise about the things that would happen in the last days, or about the signs of the times pertaining to the return of Christ.  It is very important to notice what Genesis 1:4 says about what the "lights in the firmament of the heaven" would be for.  The "lights in the firmament" is speaking of the sun, moon and the stars.  The Jewish or Hebrew calendar is a lunisolar calendar that is based upon lunar months or lunar cycles of the sun and moon together, while the western "Gregorian" calendar is based upon the sun alone, and the Islamic calendar is only based upon the moon.  It is important to recognize that the Gregorian calendar was instituted by Pope Gregory XIII in 1582, but the calendar that was used in the time when Jesus was on earth and is still being used today is the Lunar calendar, which is based upon the activity of the sun and the moon.

The reason why this is so important for us today is because of what is about to happen and take place this year beginning in the month of April through September of 2015. As we understand the significance of the hour in which we are living as it pertains to the return of Jesus Christ, we should be compelled to do the work of the ministry and Kingdom of God in the earth. We are living in the finest hour for the Church to shine as salt and light as a witness of Christ to those who aren't saved.  Perry Stone, who is a highly respected and well recognized Bible scholar, shared the following information on end-time prophecy:

Recently there has been much discussion on the FOUR BLOOD MOONS to occur in 2014 and 2015. Coincidentally, these 4 Blood Moons are scheduled to occur on the Jewish Passover and Feasts of Tabernacles. This has occurred only 3 times in the last 500 years!  In the past when this has happened it has led to historical events involving the Israel.
The 4 Lunar eclipses break down as follows:
          *Passover                             April 15, 2014 (Blood Moon 4/14 - 4/16)
Feast of Trumpets                September 25, 2014 (Rosh Hashanah, Jewish New
Year; meaning "Head of the Year")
*Feast of Tabernacles             October 8, 2014 (Blood Moon)
Jewish New Year                   March 20, 2015 (Total Eclipse of the Sun on the                                                        Jewish New Year / Adar 25, Nisan 1)
*Passover                             April 4, 2015 (Blood Moon)
Feast of Trumpets                September 13, 2015 (Partial Eclipse of the Sun,
                                                     Rosh Hashanah, Jewish New Year)
*Feast of Tabernacles             September 28, 2015 (Blood Moon)
Jesus Christ said, referring to the days before His second coming:  “And there will be fearful sights and GREAT SIGNS from heaven” (Luke 21:11, KJV).  Christ went on, “And there will be SIGNS in the sun, in the moon, and in the stars . . .” (Luke 21: 25).
Also speaking of His second coming, to rule this world, and to deliver mankind from its greatest crisis in all human history, Jesus foretold:  “Immediately after the tribulation of those days, the sun will be darkened, and the moon will not give its light; the stars [meteors] will fall from heaven, and the powers of the heavens will be shaken [an incredible cosmic quaking and shaking -- see Hebrews 12:25-28; Hag.2:21-23].  Then the SIGN of the Son of Man will APPEAR in heaven, and then all the tribes of the earth will mourn, and they will SEE the Son of Man coming on the clouds of heaven with power and glory” (Matt.24:29-31).
The prophet Joel tells us, “The sun shall be turned into darkness, and the moon into blood, BEFORE the coming of the great and awesome day of the LORD” (Joel 2:31).
John in Revelation prophesied that in the period just before the coming of the Messiah, and the “Day of the Lord,” that great signs would take place:  “I look when He opened the sixth seal, and behold, there was a great earthquake; and the sun became black as sackcloth of hair, and the moon became like blood. And the stars of heaven fell to the earth [meteor showers], as a fig tree droops its late figs when it is shaken by a mighty wind.  Then the sky receded as a scroll when it is rolled up, and every mountain and island was moved out of its place” (Rev.6:12-14)."  [Source, Perry Stone Ministries - Voice of Evangelism]

The following short video will further add to and increase your understanding and awareness of the serious nature of the hour in which we are living.  The greatest thing that needs to be understood is that the rapture of the Church could occur at any time, and whether you believe in and espouse the pre-tribulation, mid-tribulation or post-tribulation doctrine the key is to be ready and prepare for His coming.  While God the Father knows the exact time of Christ's coming, He has given us signs that let us know when we are in that season.  My earnest prayer is that you become a stronger witness of Jesus Christ to everyone that you meet, and that your commitment to the Lord is greater than ever before.  Let the Word of God and prayer be your daily bread, and fellowship with the saints be a part of your ongoing source of spiritual growth and enrichment in Jesus mighty name, until He comes again.  Amen.

Emmanuel is With You!

How many of you have ever felt like God was not there, that His presence had deserted you altogether? Some of you may say, “How can God be on my side when I’ve failed Him so many times in my life? How can God be on my side when I’m not quite living right? Or, how can God love me when I'm rejected, criticized and condemned by people? After all, He’s a holy God.”

Well, I’m going to tell you how God can be on your side. He’s on your side because of what happened on the cross. Because of the blood of Jesus, God has committed Himself to never leave you, nor forsake you (Hebrews 13:5). A divine exchange took place on the cross. Jesus took our sins and released the presence of God to us so we could take His righteousness and receive the presence of God.

Under the old covenant Law, when people were obedient to God His presence would stay with them; but if they disobeyed God, His presence would depart from them (Numbers 12:9; 1 Samuel 16:14). But under the new covenant of grace, it doesn’t work like that. Because of what Jesus did on the cross, it sealed the presence of God in our lives forever (Ephesians 1:13).

God’s presence is ours for eternity. That one statement changed my life. I used to think His presence was conditional, that He was with me when I was doing “good,” but not with me when I wasn’t doing so good. But God is not just with you only when you feel you deserve it. God is with you even when you fail. He’s with you when you’re up and when you’re down. Don’t ever evaluate the presence of God based on your circumstances. Your circumstances don’t dictate whether or not God is going to be with you. There’s no circumstance strong enough to make God leave you! Psalm 118:6 declares, “The Lord is on my side; I will not fear: what can man do unto me?” Some of you may be thinking, “If God’s commitment to me is so strong, why does it appear that I’m not benefiting from it? If He’s for me and with me, no matter what, why am I going through certain things?” You have to learn how to take full advantage of His presence. To experience God’s presence, you’re going to have to increase your consciousness of His presence by practicing the presence of God.

So, let’s talk about how to practice God’s presence. You have to begin to train your mind to think about Jesus more. You can choose to think about a problem, or you can choose to think about Jesus. He keeps you in perfect peace when you keep your mind on Him (Isaiah 26:3). When you do this, you’re getting Him involved in your everyday situations in life. You become so consciously aware of Jesus that you’re setting yourself up for Him to show up and perform some things you didn’t expect. When you get in the Word, you’re exposing yourself more to the presence of God. When you attend Bible Study every week, you’re exposing yourself more to the presence of God. Something supernatural happens when you expose yourself to God’s presence. The breakthrough that you’ve been struggling to receive supernaturally begins to occur when you become exposed to the presence of God.

The presence of Jesus is all that we need. Begin to get in a routine of saying, “God is with me.” Anytime fear arises, remind yourself that God is on your side. Even when you don’t feel like He’s there, acknowledge His presence. It’s not possible for Him to leave you, not by any means! He won’t do it! Jesus, Emmanuel, is God with us. Hallelujah!

“And they shall call His name Emmanuel—which, when translated, means, God with us”
(Matthew 1:23, AMP).

All of the confidence and bold assurance you need to excel in life will come because of the presence of the Lord. God is on your side, and if God is for you, no one or nothing can be against you! (Romans 8:31).

A Restored & Healthy Marriage Begins With You

The month of February is known as the month of love. It is also a time when people across America and around the world celebrate Valentine's Day, and do nice things for the significant other in their lives. However, there are some very important things that should be understood and attended to throughout the entire year in order for married couples and their families to enjoy the benefits of their love for one another through healing and restoration.

In order for a marriage and family to be healed and restored, each individual must be willing to embrace change.  I have personally observed the fact that almost all of the issues and challenges which are faced in marriages and families could be settled automatically if only one or more of the people in the family would begin to change. Although, change almost never occurs until something tragic or very serious happens in order to motivate people to have a change of heart.

Before a change of heart can occur, one must realize and understand why it is necessary to do so.  When you became born again your spirit was automatically renewed and made alive unto God, but your soul which encompasses your mind, will, intellect, judgment, appetites, emotions yet needs to be renewed in Christ. When you consider the kind of thoughts and opinions that are contained in your heart, are they aligned with the Word of God as the final authority, or do you defend them in order to maintain your present position and attitude? If they are not aligned with God's word, you've just identified the areas where strongholds exist as fortresses of thought, ideas and opinions that are of an ungodly and sinful nature. Thoughts of unbelief, a lack of compassion, cold heartedness, various kinds of fear (phobias), pride, unforgiveness and lusts involving sexual appetites, food, money, etc., are strongholds which entangle the soul. They must be confessed, renounced and authority must be taken against them by the Word of God until they have been severed from the root.

"For though we walk in the flesh, we do not war according to the flesh. For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal but mighty in God for pulling down strongholds, casting down arguments and every high thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of God, bringing every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ."
(2 Corinthians 10:3-5, NKJV)

Again, in order for marriages and families to be healed and restored, the individuals who are companions and members of the marriage and family have to be made whole first. Once the decision has been made to change then healing can begin, and lives can be changed for the better!

The first thing that needs to take place is to turn your will over to God completely by submitting yourself to God's Word according to Isaiah 1:19, which says, "If ye be willing and obedient, ye shall eat the good of the land." In order to eat the good of the land you must submit and come under the will of God by setting aside your plans, desires and appetites for God's desires, plans and will for your life.

Secondly, you must increase your knowledge base. Your level of knowledge and understanding of the Word of God must increase in order for change to occur in your life. The direct proportion to which your knowledge increases will correspondingly affect the degree to which you receive the insight needed to activate and apply so that change becomes evident.  Otherwise, you will continue to partake of the wrong things and produce wrong results.  If your context is wrong, your outcome will also be wrong. So, personal growth and development of your knowledge base is essential in your ability to improve the condition of your marriage and family relationships.

Third, let the Word of God be the standard by which you measure the depth of your progress. Look into the perfect law of liberty everyday especially in the morning and in the evening, making it your daily bread until you reflect the characteristics, love, compassion, wisdom, and integrity that it contains. In doing so, you will begin to experience the results in the way you respond to your companion, family members and others you come into contact with daily.

"But whoever looks intently into the perfect law that gives freedom, and continues in it, not forgetting what they have heard, but doing it, they will be blessed in what they do." (James 1:25, NIV)

Fourth, guard your heart by meditating and applying the Word of God as a lifestyle instead of on occasion.  According to Proverbs 4:23, it is very important to "Keep thy heart with all diligence, for out of it flows the issues of life."  Therefore, you will have to consider the things which you are allowing to enter your heart, because if you allow refuse and garbage in that's what will come out. Instead, ensure that you are deliberately and intentionally protecting and cultivating a spiritually healthy thought life by meditation and application of God's word every day.

Finally, set aside quality time for personal devotion in prayer and communion between you and God alone.  Then ensure that you dedicate special time to enter into prayer with your companion on a daily basis as much as possible. This will help to build intimacy and agreement in the marriage, and undo any plots of the adversary to creep in and destroy the covenant relation that God has blessed you with. It will also allow the Holy Spirit to minister and manifest the blessings of God upon your family as He is acknowledged as the author, originator, sovereign leader and head of your household.

"The effectual fervent prayers of the righteous availeth much." (James 5:16b)

When a husband prays together with his wife and visa-versa, it brings the presence and anointing of God to bear, which in turn creates a healthy marriage relationship and family oriented atmosphere that is conducive to the blessing that "maketh rich and He addeth no sorrow with it."  (Proverbs 10:22)

I want to encourage you to embrace change, and commit yourself to being in submission to God. Expand your knowledge base of God's Word, and allow it to be the standard by which you measure your progress. Finally set aside quality time for personal devotion in prayer as well as with your companion and family. I am confident that in doing so, you will experience the rewards of a restored and healthy marriage.  It all begins with you making a conscious decision to change, learn, grow and improve personally.

"The 40 Day Fast"

I believe the power of fasting as it relates to prayer is the spiritual atomic weapon that God has given us to destroy the strongholds of evil and usher in a great revival and spiritual harvest around the world. The definition of fasting means "abstinence from food."
When we fast we are devoting ourselves wholly and completely to the Holy Spirit for repentance and cleansing of the soul, so that God can intervene in both personal and world affairs, and bring alignment with His will in the earth realm.  It is a time of complete surrender, submission, and obedience to God in such a way that causes us to hear His voice more clearly.  Fasting also empowers us spiritually to be aligned with the original plan of God, and stand on the promises of His word for manifestation in our lives, relationships, families, physical health, finances, churches and ministries, communities, nations, and governments.  When the people of God fast in accordance with the Bible, mountains are removed and the Kingdom of God is exalted.  (Isaiah 58:1-14; 2 Chronicles 7:14; Mark 9:29; Joel 1:14; Jonah 3:5)

Lately, I have been gripped with a growing sense of urgency to call upon God to send revival to our country, churches, communities, households and individual lives. In the past several weeks I have had a growing conviction that God wants for me to fast and pray for forty days for a revival in America and for the fulfillment of His word concerning Israel and the nations of the world prophetically. More than ever, I am convinced that God has called me to fast, and that He would not make such a call without a specific reason or purpose. I encourage you to join me, and let's enter into the fast with conviction, excitement and expectancy in our hearts, praying, "Lord, let Your Kingdom come, and let Your will be done on earth as it is in heaven!"

I believe that this 40-day fast is a sovereign call of God because of the magnitude of the sins of America and of the Church. The Lord impressed this upon my heart, the urgent need to help accelerate the fulfillment of the Great Commission in this generation as found in Matthew 28:19-20, "Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost:  Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world. Amen." (KJV)

My confidence is in the Lord to help as we seek His face. Each day His presence will strengthen and encourage us all to continue until the end. I am personally convinced that the longer that we fast, the more we will sense the presence of the Lord. Whenever I fast personally, the Holy Spirit refreshes my soul and spirit, and I experience the joy of the Lord as never before. Biblical truths leap at me from the pages of God's Word, and my faith soars as I humble myself and cry out to God and rejoice in His presence according to Psalms 16:11, "Thou wilt shew me the path of life: in thy presence is fulness of joy; at thy right hand there are pleasures for evermore."

I strongly believe that this fast will prove to be the most important forty days of our lives thus far. As we wait upon the Lord in prayer, I believe the Holy Spirit has given me the assurance that America and much of the world will experience a great spiritual revival and awakening as we answer the call. This divine visitation from the presence of the Holy Spirit will kindle the greatest spiritual harvest in the history of the Church. But before God comes in revival power, the Holy Spirit will call millions of God's people to repent, fast, and pray in the spirit according to 2 Chronicles 7:14. If my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and will heal their land.

The scope of this revival depends on how we as believers in America and the rest of the world respond to this call. I have spent over 30 years studying God's Word and listening to His voice.  His direction and calling to fast and pray could not be clearer. During my forty-day fast, God has impressed me to pray that millions Christians in North America will fast for forty days by the end of the year 2014, and pray for national and worldwide revival and for the fulfillment of the Great Commission. I urge you to prayerfully consider this challenge and join me by going to our Global Prayer Forum page on the website and signup today, and help spread the word with everyone about the call of God to fast and pray for major strongholds to be demolished by the anointing so that souls are saved and delivered, and so that marriages, families, finances, churches, communities, nations, and captives are loosed and set free in Jesus mighty name!  Please share your comments with us on this important blog topic. Thank you.

SPECIAL NOTE: Be sure to consult your physician before fasting if you are taking prescription medication or are under doctor's care.  Neither MPLI, it's hosts, staff, or partners are responsible or liable for your decision to fast or for your personal well-being in reference to anything published on this blog or otherwise contained within or associated with the MPoweing Lives International website.

Celebrating the Birth of Our Lord!!

Luke 1:31 And, behold, thou shalt conceive in thy womb, and bring forth a son, and shalt call his name Jesus. v.32 He shall be great, and shall be called the Son of the Highest: and the Lord God shall give unto him the throne of his father David: v.33 And he shall reign over the house of Jacob for ever; and of his kingdom there shall be no end.

Enjoy "The Nativity Story" Presentation by Time Warner

When the angel Gabriel first appeared to Mary and mentioned the idea of a virgin birth, she had trouble with it. In fact, the Bible records that Mary wasn’t as startled by the angel’s appearance as she was by the message. “How will this be,” Mary asked the angel, “since I am a virgin?” (Luke 1:34)

Isn't it interesting that the Lord chose a doctor to write about it? As a physician, Luke’s training would have prejudiced him against the whole idea of a virgin birth. Yet, facing the evidence of his own training, he was so completely convinced of its truth that the he wrote the longest, most detailed, and most beautiful account of this marvelous event.

Well we all know that Gabriel ultimately convinced Mary to get beyond what her earthly mind tells her can’t happen. “For nothing is impossible with God,” he told her. (Luke 1:37)
What we see at work in the life of Mary is a test of faith. The Bible tells us that “faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen”. (Hebrews 11:1) The world told Mary that it couldn't be, but God told her to believe otherwise. Think about it. Mary’s decision to submit to God’s will could have meant shame before her friends and family, not to mention the possible loss of a husband to whom she was engaged. She could have been stoned to death for becoming pregnant during her engagement. What a leap of faith!
God showed Mary, and the rest of us, too, what happens when we’re willing to forsake the world’s logic to accept His infinite promise that nothing is impossible when He’s in the middle of it. Mary’s greatest shame became her greatest glory.

So you see the Christmas story also demonstrates what can happen when we allow our faith to reach beyond what we understand. It’s that very same faith today that brings stories of healings to us, delivers drug addicts, alcoholics, prostitutes, and sinners from destructive addictions, restores broken relationships, comforts those who mourn, and reminds us all that hope for the Christian is never lost.

As you celebrate the birth of our Lord Jesus Christ during this wonderful season of sharing and giving, remember to worship God with thanksgiving for sending His only begotten Son to redeem us and give us eternal life.  Have a Merry Christmas & Happy New Year!!

Be encouraged to share at least 3 reasons or an experience from your heart of why you are thankful for the birth of our Lord and King Jesus Christ.  Please share this Christmas Holiday Blog with your friends and family.  Thank you so much.
